How much notice do we need to give when dismissing an employee?
Employees are normally entitled to a minimum period of notice when being dismissed
depending on their length of service.
> At least one week’s notice after one month of service.
> At least two weeks notice after two years of service.
> At least three weeks notice after three years of service (… and so on up to a maximum of 12 weeks notice).
A contract of employment may provide for longer notice periods.
